Shred-it Or Iron Mountain Got You Down? Call American Shredding!
We hear the frustration from new customers literally everyday about our main competitors, Shred-It and Iron Mountain. Whereas American Shredding offers pristine and responsive customer service, these corporate behemoths struggle to even answer the phone. Where American Shredding has flexible scheduling, with Shred-it and Iron Mountain it's my way or the highway. And while American Shredding can work with virtually any budget, our competitors charge mega-bucks.
Don't believe us? Here's a real-life email we received from a prospective customer. They thought we were Shed-it and were extremely miffed at "our" lack of customer service:
To whom it may concern,
I have tried several times over the last 6 weeks to get YOUR company to straighten out our account to which I have gotten one of two things accomplished (1) on hold for 30-45 minutes, and (2) to be told someone will come out, but no one EVER shows up. No follow-up calls, emails, nothing.
As it stands and has been since July 30th – we do NOT have any bins. We PAY for 4 however, we don’t have them. Do you know WHY? Because they were left at our old address as YOU were to pick them up. That never happened. Since then, the office space is being demolished and rebuilt by the new occupant. Upon several occasion, I called your office and repeatedly told the representative that the space was being demolished and the bins HAD TO BE REMOVED. We were unable to move the bins ourselves because they were FULL and again, no one would come to empty them before we had to vacate the property.
Additionally, I was promised you would deliver bins to our new location (address below) and of course, NOTHING has been received. That was supposed to happen on August 6th and here we are, the end of the month and still NOTHING. Again, no phone call, no email and no bins.
This is way past ridiculous. I cannot believe this is how you treat your customers - no one has followed-up, contacted us – zero communication. When I call, I’m given 30,000 excuses with promises to fix our account, and of course, then I’m put on hold “while I complete this request” and 30-45 minutes later, I’m hung up on. I call back and the cycle goes the same exact way.
My question at this point is ARE YOU GOING TO DO ANYTHING???? ARE YOU GOING TO RESPOND TO THIS EMAIL, WITH A PHONE CALL, EMAIL? WILL WE HERE FROM YOU AT ALL?
The good news is that our lease with Shred-it ends in October and clearly we will NOT be renewing. Notice has already been sent confirming this. Will receive any service for the remainder
of our contract or no? I should expect the same silent treatment? Would be delighted and greatly appreciated if someone actually contacted me and we had bins in our office. Guess we will see.
